Gillian Ramm: “rapturous” as Fiordiligi

13 October 2009

Gillian Ramm’s return to Glyndebourne Touring Opera, as Fiordiligi, is collecting excellent reviews. “Intensely thoughtful” and “gripping to watch”, writes Hilary Finch for The Times, “Ramm is as deeply into the role as any Fiordiligi I have seen on this stage”. John Allison in Opera magazine writes that “Gillian Ramm is a fine Fiordiligi” and Tim Ashley (The Guardian) commends her “rapturous Fiordiligi” - a role that she performed as her debut for Glyndebourne Opera Festival in 2007.

The production continues at Glyndebourne until the end of October, and then tours to Woking (New Victoria Theatre), Stoke-on-Trent (The Regent Theatre), Norwich (Theatre Royal), Milton Keynes (The Milton Keynes Theatre), and Plymouth (Theatre Royal); for more information please visit the Glyndebourne Touring Opera website.
