Julia Sporsén makes her Wigmore Hall recital debut

In 2009, soprano Julia Sporsén and pianist Joseph Middleton won the Maisie Lewis Young Artists Competition, and were awarded with a recital at London’s prestigious Wigmore Hall.  This was given on January 11th when they presented a wide-ranging programme including Berg’s Sieben Frühe Lieder,12 Songs from Wolf’s Italienisches Liederbuch and the London première of Howard Blake’s Sleepwalking. Bob Briggs of MusicWeb International reviewed the concert, commenting that “Julia Sporsén is not only the possessor of a fine voice, she fully understands how to shade her instrument, and what vocal colour is required for whatever she is singing.”
