Kate Valentine’s debut as Elisabeth Zimmer in ENO’s Elegy for Young Lovers

21 April 2010

Make sure you do not miss Kate Valentine’s ‘touchingly sung’ (Financial Times) debut as Elisabeth Zimmer in ENO’s new production of Henze’s Elegy for Young Lovers. Having premiered Saturday 24th April at the Young Vic, reviewers are praising the ‘lyric flights of Kate Valentine and Rob Murray’s “lovers”’ (Edward Seckerson, The Independent) in this ‘Tour de force’ production as ‘impressive’ (Andrew Clements, The Guardian).

A tragic love story controlled by the selfish desires of a poet in search of inspiration, this production, with a libretto co-written by W.H. Auden and directed by Fiona Shaw, is definitely a must - see.
