New Artist: Violist Eniko Magyar

14 October 2011

We are delighted to announce the signing, for General Management, of the outstanding young Hungarian viola virtuoso Eniko Magyar.

Compared to Lionel Tertis and Wiliam Primrose by Classic fM Magazine, Eniko is one of the most exciting and imaginative violists of her generation.  Making her solo debut with orchestra at the age of 13, she completed her studies at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest (graduating Summa Cum Laude) and as a scholar at the Royal Academy of Music, where she won the prestigious Theodore Holland Prize.  Eniko’s recently-released debut CD The English Viola for Naxos has garnered rave reviews by the international press and been broadcast regularly on BBC Radio 3, Classic fM and the nationally-syndicated US station Classical 24.  Prizewinner of several major international competitions, Eniko Magyar enjoys a varied career as soloist and chamber musician, appearing at prestigious festivals including Verbier, Budapest Spring, Cork Chamber Music and at venues such as Wigmore Hall and King’s Place in London and Vienna’s Musikverein.
