Robert Levin’s performance an “an astonishing revelation”

08 November 2011

Robert Levin’s UK performances during autumn 2011 with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Scottish Chamber Orchestra have received excellent review from the critics.

Kenneth Walton, writing in The Scotsman, described Levin’s performance of Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto with the SCO as “absorbing” and “an astonishing revelation”.

Geoff Brown in the Times wrote that Levin’s OAE performance of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 was “a delightful and touching account” and Fiona Maddocks, reviewing the same concert in The Times, said he “plays the music as if he’s writing it himself - for the first time”.
