Christian Blackshaw agrees at last to a release

12 September 2013

“This is an impressive beginning to what could become a major event, a set of recordings of this repertoire to rank with Alfred Brendel and Mitsuko Uchida.” - Colin Anderson, Classical Source

All previous attempts to make original recordings or even release finished ones have been refused by pianist Christian Blackshaw – until now. Both EMI and DG offered him contracts at the beginning of his career but he declined.

Now he has given his consent to Wigmore Hall Live to issue Volume 1 of the complete Mozart Piano Sonatas which he played in four concerts last season and which were recorded by them.

This double-CD release is now available here.
