Antonio Meneses and Augustin Dumay in London triple bill

Augustin Dumay (violin) and Antonio Meneses (cello) join Maria João Pires (piano) in a series of much-anticipated UK performances, starting with a performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto on Friday 24th October with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Jukka-Pekka Saraste, at the Royal Festival Hall.

The starry Trio gives a recital at Saffron Hall on Saturday 25th October and recitals at Wigmore Hall on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th October 2014. Their all-Beethoven recital programme includes the Trio in B flat Major, WoO 39, Cello Sonata No.3 in A major, Violin Sonata No.5 in F major and ‘Ghost Trio’ in D major, Op. 70, No.1.

Antonio Meneses returns to the UK to play Dvořák’s Cello Concerto with Oxford Philomusica and Mario Papadopoulos on Saturday 15th November and for two performances of Saint-Saëns’s First Cello Concerto with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under Josep Pons on 12th and 13th December.

Augustin Dumay’s upcoming engagements include performances with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra; a performance at Carnegie Hall in February 2015; tours of France, Belgium, Japan and Korea; and the release of Brahms’ Three Violin Sonatas with Louis Lortie for Onyx in November 2014.
