Bolshoi Theatre's Rodelinda production, featuring William Towers, receives Golden Mask Award

The Bolshoi Theatre’s recent production of Handel’s Rodelinda, featuring William Towers as Unulfo, has been awarded the Golden Mask Award for Best Opera Production. The Golden Mask is a prestigious award supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Moscow Government. Directed by Richard Jones, the production also received the award for Best Director.

William Towers first performed the role of Unolfo at the Bolshoi in November 2015 and then in subsequent revivals of the production in March/April 2016 and December 2016.

He is currently performing in John Adams’s opera The Gospel According to the Other Mary at Theater Bonn and upcoming opera engagements include Death in Venice (Voice of Apollo) for Oper Stuttgart and Porpora L’Agrippina (Giunio) for Barber Opera.
