Rayfield Allied is delighted to welcome on to its roster soprano Katherine Watson.
Described as "deliciously stylish" by The Times, Katherine works regularly with many of the world's leading Early Music specialists including Emmanuelle Haïm, Harry Christophers, Christophe Rousset, Harry Bicket, Christian Curnyn and Jonathan Cohen. She is a graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge and William Christie's Le Jardin des Voix and the recipient of Glyndebourne's prestigious John Christie Award.
Katherine appears on several critically acclaimed recordings for labels including EMI, Hyperion, Harmonia Mundi and Opus Arte, and her performance in the title role of Handel's Theodora - conducted by William Christie and directed by our very own Stephen Langridge - was recently released on DVD by Warner Classics.
Highlights this season include appearances at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, the Komische Oper, Berlin, the Opéra Comique, Paris, and performances with the Handel and Haydn Society in Boston, the Opéra National de Paris, and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
