New artist: baritone Konstantin Shushakov

We are delighted to welcome Russian baritone Konstantin Shushakov to the Rayfield Allied roster for general management.

Konstantin’s recent and upcoming engagements include Guglielmo Così fan tutte, Andrei Shchelkalov Boris Godunov, Malatesta Don Pasquale, and title role Eugene Onegin (Opernhaus Zürich); Marcello La bohème, Figaro Il barbiere di Siviglia, Malatesta Don Pasquale and Count Almaviva Le nozze di Figaro (Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow); Yeletsky The Queen of Spades (Savonlinna Opera Festival and Den Norske Opera, Oslo); title role Eugene Onegin (Opéra de Rouen, Vancouver Opera and the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo); Ford Falstaff (Grand Théâtre de Génève); and Tzarevich Afron The Golden Cockerel (Théâtre de la Monnaie, Brussels).

Konstantin studied at Izhevsk Music College, and at the Russian Academy of Theatrical Art with Georgy Ansimov and Yuri Udalov. He was awarded Second Prize at Plácido Domingo’s Operalia Competition in 2011 and was a prizewinner at the 2011 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. Since 2019, he has been a member of the ensemble at Opernhaus Zürich.
