OBE for Alan Opie in Queen’s Birthday Honours List

Rayfield Allied is delighted to announce that Alan Opie has been awarded an OBE in the 2013 Queen’s Birthday Honours list for his services to music.

His remarkable career has seen him become a regular guest at the world’s leading opera houses, making frequent appearances at the Metropolitan Opera New York, La Scala Milan and Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, as well as closer to home for Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne Festival and at English National Opera. He can be heard on numerous recordings, including Grammy Award-winning discs of Peter Grimes with Richard Hickox where he sings Captain Balstrode and Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg with Sir Georg Solti on which he sings Beckmesser.

Alan Opie’s upcoming performances include concerts with the San Francisco Symphony, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Accademia di Santa Cecillia, as well as productions at the Metropolitan Opera New York and Welsh National Opera.
