Rayfield Allied is delighted to announce the representation of Norwegian violinist Peter Herresthal.
A specialist in contemporary music he has commissioned and premiered numerous new works. He is particularly associated with the music of the leading Scandinavia composers, including Per Nørgård and Arne Nordheim, but also includes the works of composers such as Henri Dutilleux and Thomas Adès in his repertoire and appears frequently with leading orchestras under conductors including Andrew Manze, Thomas Adès, Anu Tali and Sakari Oramo.
He has released numerous discs for BIS and Simax/Aurora - his 2012 CD of Nørgård concertos was nominated for a Gramophone Award and was Editors Choice in both The Strad and International Record Review.
Away from the violin he curates a chamber music series for the Bergen International Festival.
