Last night the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence hosted an evening at the Cité de la la musique in Paris to promote the young talents of the Academy. The announcement of the 2014 HSBC laureates was followed by a concert with Sabine Devieilhe and Andreea Soare (both previous HSBC laureates), Les Siècles and François-Xavier Roth.
Each year, HSBC and the Academy select the most promising artists and help further their careers via concerts and recital opportunities in France and abroad over a period of 3 years. Find out more about the 2014 Laureates here.
Bernard Foccroulle the director of the festival, also announced some of Chloé‘s upcoming projects in Aix, including Yniold Pelléas et Mélisande in their 2016 edition.
This announcement follows her successful London debut last week in the role of Yniold under the baton of Esa-Pekka Salonen in the Philharmonia’s opening concert of their City of Light concert series. The performance received wonderful reviews and Anna Picard from The Times thought ‘Chloé Briot’s bright, birdlike Yniold, was a great luxury’.
Chloé Briot will be back in London in February for another performance with the Philharmonia and Mo. Salonen, for the title-role in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges. More information and tickets here.
