Natalie Clein - "beautifully controlled and shaped" performances on new Hyperion record

7 January 2019

Natalie Clein releases her new recital disc for Hyperion in January 2019. Featuring the music of Rebecca Clarke and Frank Bridge, the result is a deeply personal exploration of British music in the early 20th century.

Already receiving outstanding reviews, Richard Bratby writing in Gramophone says of the Bridge Sonata "the transition from uneasy calm to jagged, angst-ridden turmoil and on to soaring, impassioned lyricism is handled with poetry and passion" and describes her playing in the Clarke as "beautifully controlled and shaped in the service of Clarke’s ardent musical narrative".

The album is available to buy on Hyperion

This spring Natalie embarks on a major tour of Australia with performances in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra and Adelaide, after which she continues to the US for concerts in Washington, Palm Beach and New York.
