Rayfield Allied are thrilled to announce that the Navarra String Quartet has been nominated in the 2018 BBC Music Magazine Awards.

The Navarra String Quartet is nominated for the Vocal Award for Fata Morgana, their outstanding recording of Pavel Haas’s song cycles performed with Lada Valešová, Nicky Spence, Anita Watson, and Anna Starushkevych, released last year on Resonus Classics.

The album, which includes the world premiere recording of 'Fata Morgana', Op. 6, was warmly received by critics, and was named ‘Album of the Year 2017’ by Europadisc. BBC Music Magazine named the album ‘Choral & Song Choice’, writing “This captivating collection is everything a recording should be … from joy to despair, every emotion is here in subtle colours; a legacy of great human and musical worth.”

Oliver Condy, Editor of BBC Music Magazine, said the 13th annual “nominations are breathtaking , not only in the standards of recording and performance, but in reaching their widest range. "

The winners will be announced at a ceremony held at Kings Place on 5 April 2018.
