Trio Isimsiz release second album, 'Fauré, Schubert, Brahms', on Rubicon Classics

28 September 2020

On Friday 25 September 2020, the Trio Isimsiz celebrate the release of their second album on Rubicon Classics. Fauré, Schubert, Brahms continues the Trio's survey of Brahms trios with the first in its revised form, alongside Fauré's only Piano Trio and Schubert’s atmospheric Notturno.

Their debut album, Brahms, Beethoven & Takemitsu, also received rave reviews: “it’s hard to know how Trio Isimsiz could have bettered such artistry and distinctiveness” - The Strad; “dazzling technical mastery” (Gramophone); "an impressive debut" (BBC Radio 3 Record Review); “et une revelation” (Diapason).

Trio Isimsiz (Turkish for ‘no name’) have been making themselves a name as one of the most exciting young piano trios on the classical music scene. They won 1st Prize and the Audience Prize at the Trondheim Competition, and in 2017 2nd Prize at the Haydn Competition in Vienna. The Trio was selected for representation by Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) between 2013 and 2018, and in February 2018 won a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship Award.

Recent highlights for the Trio Isimsiz include recitals at Wigmore Hall, the Sage Gateshead, Kettle's Yard Cambridge, Aldeburgh Festival's Schubertiade, Beethoven-Haus Bonn for the Beethoven 2020 celebrations, and their debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra, performing Beethoven's Triple Concerto with conductor Roderick Cox.
