4 June 2013

Andrew Parrott and the Taverner Consort & Players’ recently released recording of Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo on Avie Records has been met with critical acclaim, being described by Richard Morrison as the “most beguiling Monteverdi opera recording for years” in a five-starred review for The Times. David Shengold praises the “breathtaking ensemble” (Time Out New York), whilst David Patrick Stearns’ Gramophone review says it is “thoroughly examined and deeply felt”.

The recording has been released to celebrate the Taverner Consort & Players’ 40th anniversary.

Befitting such an outstanding recording, the 2-CD set is luxuriously packaged with extensive notes and the complete libretto with English translations in a 52-page booklet. To read more and purchase the recording please click here
