The Cardinall’s Musick podcast

17 December 2009

Twenty years ago in Oxford - Christmas 1989 - a new early-music ensemble called The Cardinall’s Musick performed their very first concert. Now established as one of Britain’s leading vocal groups, they celebrate this landmark aniversary with a vibrant celebration concert in St John’s Smith Square in London on December 18th. Lassus’s stuning double choir Missa Osculetur me is interleaved with motets by Victoria, and William Byrd is represented by a set of Mass Propers for the Nativity of the Virgin - an inspiring collection of great names from the past to prepare for the season of Christmas.

You can hear Andrew Carwood being interviewed on Classic fM about the concert as well as the anniversary celebrations by clicking here.
