Wozzeck opened at Finnish National Opera at the weekend starring Olafur Sigurdarson making his title role debut and Hubert Francis singing the role of Captain.

There is still plenty of time to catch a show with performances on March 27, 29 and April 4, 9, 25, 27

The title role features the Icelandic baritone Olafur Sigurdarson. This is Wozzeck, a short-tailed, wobbly and clumsy man who awakens great compassion. The sound is lush and tender. It reveals the man's psychology in apologetic, horrific and raging behaviours.
