New artist: baritone Bernhard Hansky

We are delighted to welcome German baritone Bernhard Hansky to our roster for general management.

A former member of the opera studios at Komische Oper Berlin and Semperoper Dresden, Bernhard joined the Semperoper solo ensemble in 2017/18 and has appeared there in numerous roles, including Papageno Die Zauberflöte and Nick Carraway The Great Gatsby. Elsewhere highlights included Don Giovanni at Volkstheater Rostock and the Estates Theatre in Prague, Falke Die Fledermaus and Count Le nozze di Figaro at Staatsoperette Dresden, Dandini La cenerentola at the National Opera Brno, the Opera Festival Lignano and at the Rossini Festival in Wildbad and Kilian Der Freischütz at the Grafenegg Festival with Tonkünstler-Orchester Niederösterreich.

He has also appeared at the Berliner Staatsoper, the Salzburg Easter Festival, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Staatstheater Mainz, Staatstheater Oldenburg, Theater Chemnitz and Sommeroper Bamberg.

Appearances this season include Die Zauberflöte and a new production Ariadne auf Naxos with Christian Thielemann (both Semperoper), Satyricon (Semperoper and Teatro Communale Modena) and Le nozze di Figaro (Staatsoperette Dresden).
