‘One to watch’, Madeline Boreham is an ENO Harewood Artist and 2nd place winner at the 2024 Kathleen Ferrier Awards, originally from Northamptonshire. Recent roles include Sister Rose in the London large-scale premiere of Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking with English National Opera. Previous to this, she performed 7 shows as Mimi La Boheme with ENO while covering, making her house and role debut. In 2023, she was a Young Artist at Opera Holland Park, singing the role of Mother Hansel and Gretel, where she will return in 2026 to debut as Fiordiligi Cosi Fan Tutte.

She is a graduate of the Royal College of Music, where she was the Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation Scholar and supported by the Drake Calleja Trust, The Countess of Munster Musical Trust and The Josephine Baker Trust. During her time at the RCM, Madeline performed a number of operatic roles, including Countess Marriage of Figaro, Donna Elvira Don Giovanni, Valencienne Merry Widow, La Princesse L’enfant et les sortileges and Diana Orpheus in the Underworld.

In concert, Madeline has featured as a soloist in pieces by Mozart, Beethoven, Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Rossini, Haydn and Mendelssohn. In 2024, she performed Strauss with the RCM Symphony Orchestra, alongside Antonio Pappano. That same year, she was invited to take part in a birthday concert for Kiri Te Kanawa at Opera Holland Park. In June 2025, she performed with the Hallè as part of a celebration of opera with ENO and Manchester Classical. Her recent international recital debut was alongside Simon Lepper, in collaboration with Blüthner Pianos, Leipzig.

Madeline has been praised for her ‘powerful Straussian soprano,’ and in competition has received success at ROSL Arts Awards, London Song Festival Schubert Song Prize and Joan Chissell Schumann Competition. She is a 2024 Samling Artist and is a 2025 semi-finalist in both the Paris Opera Competition and the Moniuszko Competition, Poland.
