Sonoko Miriam Welde makes her debut at London's Royal Festival Hall

Rising star Sonoko Miriam Welde returns to London to play the Bruch Violin Concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on March 16 2019. The concert will mark her debut at the Royal Festival Hall.

Sonoko previously played this concerto with the RPO as part of their touring programme in 2018.

The 2018/19 season began with performances of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto on tour with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and has also included the Sibelius Violin Concerto with Han-na Chang and the Trondheim Symphony. She also plays the Barber Violin Concerto twice with Joshua Weilerstein, with the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne in Switzerland and the Oslo Philharmonic, the latter of which has been recorded for future release.

Her chamber music commitments include recitals at the Bergen International Festival and the Rosendal Chamber Music Festival where she performs Shostakovich alongside artists Tabea Zimmerman, Clemens Hagen, Marc-André Hamelin and Igor Levit, among others.
