This week's #RAArtistinFocus is Norwegian violinist, Sonoko Miriam Welde!
An exciting young artist, she enjoys regular performances of major celebrated violin works and concertos including Barber, Bruch, Mendelssohn, and Vaughn William's The Lark Ascending.
Working with some of the most internationally acclaimed conductors such as Joshua Weilerstein, Edward Gardner and Kwamé Ryan, Sonoko has established herself as a dynamic soloist and chamber musician.
Sonoko's debut album includes performances of Bruch and Barber violin concertos and The Lark Ascending with the Oslo Philharmonic on LAWO Classics.
An instant hit, it caught the attention of Classic FM who made it Album of the Week, BBC Music Magazine who named her a ‘Rising Star’, and Gramophone Magazine ‘One to Watch’.
