Russian baritone Alexey Lavrov studied on the Young Artist Programme at the Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow and on the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera, New York. Engagements in the 2016-17 season include house debuts at the Opernhaus Zürich as Silvio Pagliacci, at the Teatro Real, Madrid as Afron The Golden Cockerel, and at Atlanta Opera as Malatesta Don Pasquale. He also returns to New York for Schaunard La Bohème at the Metropolitan Opera and for the New York Philharmonic’s Tchaikovsky Festival.
