Dame Sarah Connolly debuts with the Symphony Orchestra of India in Martyn Brabbins' first concert as Chief Conductor

Dame Sarah Connolly debuts this week with the Symphony Orchestra of India in the first concert of Martyn Brabbins' three-year tenure as its Chief Conductor. Dame Sarah will perform Mahler's Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen in the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Mumbai, one of Asia’s largest multi-venue arts and cultural centres.

Famed for her interpretations of Mahler's vocal works the concert marks the first of many engagements this year in which Dame Sarah performs his music. Coming up is his Kindertotenliederwith the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and Joel Sandelson, his Symphony no. 2 with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra and Alexander Shelley and his Symphony no. 3 with both the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and Benjamin Zander and the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra with Andris Poga.
