Next week, cellist Pieter Wispelwey will embark on a major Australian tour. He will appear in a three-night residency at Melbourne Recital Centre with pianist Piers Lane which showcases works by Shostakovich, Mendelssohn, Prokofiev, Schubert, Chopin, Franck, all anchored by performances of Britten's Cello Suites throughout the week.
Pieter and Piers will go on to perform at the Bennelong Series at Sydney Opera House on 22nd September, and Pieter will also give solo recitals in Blackheath and Wollongong where audiences will hear the Bach Suites, for which he has received critical acclaim.
