Sean Shibe's newest recording SoftLOUD, released on Delphian in January 2018, is nominated in the Instrumental Category: “This concept album showcases guitarist Sean Shibe’s dazzling musicianship, pitting gentler works against dramatic pieces, on acoustic and electric guitar. All are sympathetically transcribed from their original forms – including Julia Wolfe’s LAD, first scored for nine bagpipes, and Steve Reich’s Electric Counterpoint.”
Sean is also nominated in the Orchestral Category for a recording of John Adams's Naïve and Sentimental Music with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra: "it's a dazzling - and moving - virtuosic display".
Paul McCreesh and the Gabrieli Consort received a nomination in the Choral Category for A Rose Magnificat - “The radiant purity of the singing is framed by the depth and clarity of the recording, and the choral virtuosity in the title track at the end of the album is breathtaking.”
