Rayfield Allied artists announced in WNO's 2019/20 season

Following the Welsh National Opera 2019/20 season announcement, Rayfield Allied looks forward to another sensational season with a number of artists.

Phillip Rhodes returns to WNO as Escamillo Carmen, a role he sings this season in his Royal Opera House debut. He recently sang the role at The Grange Festival receiving outstanding reviews. Phillip is currently enjoying a busy season at WNO appearing as the Speaker The Magic Flute.

Following his success with the company as Canio and Turiddu, Peter Auty returns as Don Jose, a role he has sung at Aalto Musiktheater Essen, Opera North, Scottish Opera and on the Glyndebourne Tour.

Returning after singing Alidoro La Cenerentola last year with “velvety authority” (Bachtrack), Wojtek Gierlach makes his role debuts as Procida Les vêpres siciliennes, Sparafucile Rigoletto and Parson The Cunning Little Vixen.

Following recent success at Welsh National Opera as Dolokhov/Napoleon War and Peace and Leporello Don Giovanni, David Stout returns as the Poacher The Cunning Little Vixen, a role he previously has sung for Grange Park and WNO.

Anna Harvey sings Cherubino, a role she has sung for Nevill Holt Opera, Longborough Festival Opera and West Green House Opera, having appeared as Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus at WNO in 2017.
